WHAT I LIKED
This was by far my favorite of this three book series; I am so glad I accidentally read these out of order. This is supposed to be the second book, but I read it last. Because of this, I already knew the ending to Lola' story, because it comes near the end of Isla and the Happily Ever After. Normally I wouldn't like knowing the end to a love story, but it was oddly calming to me to know how it ends.
I like Lola more than Anna and Isla; she's more eccentric, stronger, and acts more her age. Lola decorates herself in over the top outfits, costumes, sparkles, and colorful wigs. She sews, she talks to the moon, and she's sassy.
Lola lives with her two dads. One is actually her uncle whom adopted her because her mother is a bit of a trainwreck. They live in a quaint neighborhood where everyone knows each other and their houses are close together.
In fact, their houses are so close together that Lola and the boy next door can talk freely at night from their bedroom windows. I love a good boy next door story; this one did not disappoint.
WHAT I DID NOT LIKE
Max. You're not supposed to like him, but I really didn't like him. I guess I'm getting old, but 22 is way too old for a 17 year old.
Overall, this series is super cute and worth reading. I'd like to say they're low-stress reads, but I can't. While no one is in immediate danger, my anxiety was high waiting to find out how they end.
